Making Liveries
These instructions are for changing livery on the Eurofighter, but can be used for other aircraft by substituting eurofighter for anything else. The aircraft files will be found under Local Disk (C:), Program Files, FlightGear, data, Aircraft. Each aircraft has its own folder.
1. Copy data/aircraft/eurofighter/typhoon-set.xml and rename it to something like typhoon-livery-set.xml. Now open the typhoon-livery-set.xml file (with any texteditor, like notepad) and change two things:

EFA Typhoon
to
19th Typhoon

<model>
Aircraft/eurofighter/Models/Typhoon.xml
</model> to <model>
Aircraft/eurofighter/Models/Typhoonlivery.xml
</model>
2. Copy data/aircraft/eurofighter/models/Typhoon.xml and rename it to something like Typhoonlivery.xml. Open the Typhoonlivery.xml file and change this:
typhoon.ac to typhoonlivery.ac
3. Copy data/aircraft/eurofighter/models/typhoon.ac and rename it to something like typhoonlivery.ac. Open the typhoonlivery.ac file and change this (use the replace option, or you will need to change a lot of lines yourself!):
typhoon-1.rgb to typhoonlivery.rgb
4. Open your livery in GIMP (which can be downloaded for free) and make your livery.
5. Save your painting scheme as data/aircraft/eurofighter/models/typhoonlivery.rgb
6. Restart FlightGear and your plane should be in the aircraft selection list. Enjoy flying with your own made livery!
So, feel free to ask any questions...I had problems at first when I started making liveries
